We want your consignment experience to be exceptional and easy! Here's how it works:
Drop and Run
Bring your items in without an appointment! New consignors will fill out their contact information and tell us if you want items that we can’t accept or that do not sell be returned or donated.
We’ll price competitively based on our experience, your gear’s “pre-owned” category, its age, and condition. Have a particular price in mind? Tell us so we can see what’s possible.
For individual items priced up to $250, you will receive 40% of the sales price. For individual items priced over $250, you will receive 50% of the sales price.
We will make our best effort to sell your items quickly and at the full price before your consignment period is up. At times, items may be discounted at our discretion.
We want you to have your cash for sold items at any time. Just contact us 24 hours before and we will have your check ready for you.
Prefer to turn cash into credit? We’ll offer an extra 10% off your store purchase.
We will display your items for 90 days with possibility of extension, based on seasonality/demand. After 90 days, you can certainly pick up items or donate them.
Due to the large number of consignors we have, we are unable to call everyone at the end of the consignment period. We ask that you contact us at the end of your 90 day period to inquire and retrieve any unsold gear.
Unsold items returned after the consignment period can be ready for you immediately. Items not picked up after 10 days become the property of Second Gear Sports. Certain unsold items will be donated to local schools or other youth organizations.
Our consignment period is for 90 days. Items picked up before that time are subject to a fee of 10% of the price of the item to cover administrative costs in preparing the item for sale.
On occasion some seasonal items may not sell. If we believe the item may sell next season, we will give you the option of returning it to us next season or we can store it for you. Stored items are subject to a $1.00 fee per item to cover administrative costs.
Clean, working items help us display your gear quickly. Please clean and test it first. Unclean items are subject to a cleaning fee of 5% of the item's value and will be deducted at the time of sale so there is no upfront cost to you. Excessively dirty items such as muddy cleats, bikes, etc. may incur a 10% fee. Please inquire for details.
Our goal is to keep your items safe and damage-free. Our required disclaimer is that we are not responsible for loss due to theft, flood, fire or acts completely out of our control.
Pre-owned items are sold “as-is.” We cannot accept faulty gear and we’ll test it out for functionality. We highly encourage you to get certain items (bicycles, skis, snowboards, etc.) inspected by a local retailer specializing in that product to ensure safety.
